How we met the brief

We designed and manufactured the curtains in 6m x 4m sections. Each of the individual sections was fixed by a number of steel support brackets attached to roller assemblies. Around the building an extruded channel was installed to take the rollers. When the rollers were fitted into the channel, the curtains were able to be rolled and unrolled. Archilles FR (SLC) Rollclear Flexible PVC fabric was selected which has fire retardant and UV inhibitors added during the manufacturing process. It is a clear PVC with good visual qualities. The fabric is also non slip which facilitates rolling and unrolling of the curtains. The bottom and top of each curtain section was reinforced with vinyl fabric welded onto the PVC. High frequency welding (HFW) equipment was used during manufacture.

Results for the Client

The design, manufacture and installation satisfied all the client’s requirements. The job was completed to budget and deadline. The Roma Aquatic centre is now opened and is in full operation.
