Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School is a leading private school in Northern NSW.
The school required a shade solution for the students outdoor eating and recreational area, with UV and shade protection being the priorities, as well as asthetic appeal in relation to the high building standards of the school.

How we met the brief

The shade sail design incorporated eight external steel posts and two centre posts. The shade sail top was custom made and patterned for correct shape.
We met the brief by designing an appealing shade structure, using eight external and two internal galvanised steel posts, which were powder coated to match the décor of existing buildings. The posts were anchored into the ground with concrete footings. The shade sail top was patterned and custom made for size and shape. Rainbow Z16 commercial grade shade cloth, which comes with a 10 year guarantee, was selected for strength and UV block out qualities. All hems were doubled seamed using tennara thread with a 15 year life span.
All corners and fixing points were reinforced and 316 grade stainless steel wire was inserted around the perimeter of the sail for shape and strength when tensioned. All fittings were 316 grade stainless steel.

Results for the Client

The shade sail solution was successful with the students immediately making use of the facility. The job came in on time and to budget with no interruption of school activities.
