Magic Millions Horse Complex
The Magic Millions thoroughbred horse complex is one of Australia’s leading auction centres for the breeding and racing industry.
The client required a waterproof solution to cater for the large crowds which attend the Magic Millions sale. The areas covered included an outdoor bar, food and TAB facilities. The deadline was critical to meet the opening day of the Magic Million Sales.

How we met the brief
Square structure, flat incline roof membrane, with gutter system, lighting and bar hoods.
Firstly we designed the structure in two sections, with two individual sails. When combined the sails formed a continuous flat inclined membrane profile, leading into a gutter system to collect water run off. The metal structure was engineered to meet the load requirements and the fabric selected for the sail was Ferrari 502 which met the design requirements. Both sails were HFW (High Frequency Welded) and double stitching was required. All corners were reinforced and 316 stainless steel wire was installed around the perimeter of the sails for strength and shape when tensioned. All fittings were 316 grade stainless steel.
Results for the Client
The design, manufacture, and installation has resulted in customers being able to enjoy the full potential of the eating, drinking and TAB facilities whether it is a hot, sunny day or raining. All work was completed on time.
