Fabrics

All our shade fabrics meet the Australian Building Standards 1530.2 and 1530.3, are UV tested and AAA rated.

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is a heavy-duty knitted mesh with a monofilament and yarn construction designed for use in shade structures, privacy screens, and shade sails.

Global Shade uses several shadecloth fabrics including: Rainbow Z16, xTreme 32, Monotec 370 Series and Alnet Extrablock.

Rainbow Z16

  • Has been around for 18 years
  • Fabric weight – 200gsm (very strong but lightweight)
  • Warranty – 10 years limited warranty
  • Colours – 25 colours
  • UV-R protection – Up to 99% depending on colour
  • Uses – shade sails and structures and canopies, carports, canopies, awnings.

eXtreme 32

  • Fabric weight – 320gsm (heavier duty than Rainbow Z16)
  • Warranty – 10 years limited warranty
  • Colours – 8 colours
  • UV-R protection – Up to 95.7% depending on colour
  • Uses – Used a lot in commercial applications including shade structures

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

  • A waterproof fabric which is treated to withstand UV and weather degradation and staining.

DriZ

  • Warranty – 5 years limited warranty
  • Fabric weight – 280 gsm. Z16 fabric with a PVC coating
  • Colours – 18 colours
  • UV-R protection – Up to 100% depending on colour
  • Uses – Varied including tensile membranes, structures, umbrellas etc

Ferrari

  • Fabric – Precontraint technology (exceptional dimensional stability)
  • Warranty – 5 -15 years depending on level.
  • Colours – up to 40 colours depending on level
  • UV –R protection – 100%
  • Uses: Mostly commercial.  Very high grade waterproof fabric.

Global Shade uses several waterproof fabrics including;  DRiZ, Ferrari 502 and GL1000.
